Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 12306 Fondren


July 12, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a juvenile suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 12306 Fondren about 12:50 p.m. on March 29.  

The suspect is identified as a 17 year-old male.  However,because he was 16 at the time of the shootingt, he has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a capital murder charge.  He is accused in the killing of Tri Minh Nguyen, 36, of the above address, who died at the scene.  

A photo of the suspect is not available for release at this time.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Miller and Officer C. Elder reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in-progress call at Wahoo's Fish N Wings at the above address and found Mr. Nguyen, the owner/operator of the restaurant, deceased.  

At that time, the suspect was described only as a black male, about 20 years of age, with a light complexion.  He wore tan pants, a gray hoodie and very recognizable light blue shoes.  

Further investigation identified Johnson as the suspect in this case and on Monday (July 11) he was taken into custody without incident.
