Male Sought for Questioning in Fatal Shooting at 6603 Hirsch


June 7, 2016 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a male sought for questioning in the fatal shooting of a woman and the wounding of a man that occurred at 6603 Hirsch about 2:50 a.m. today.

The individual wanted for questioning, Darrell P. Mitchell (b/m, 28), is believed to be driving a charcoal gray Dodge Avenger.  The vehicle has a dent on the front passenger door that makes the door difficult to open.  A photo of Mitchell is attached to this news release.

Ms. Lakiesha Lewis, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Mr. Johnel Francis, 24, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Officer M. Perez reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and were directed by a citizen to apartment #12.  Officers then located Ms. Lewis and Mr. Francis in the bathroom, both having suffered gun shot wounds.  Francis was unconscious and was transported to the hospital. 

Investigators are seeking to interview Mitchell about the case.
