Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 781 Country Place

June 20, 2016 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 781 Country Place Drive about 6 a.m. on Sunday (June 19).

The victim, Chris Brown, 40, of the above address, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R, Rodriguez and Senior Police Officer M. Condon reported:

Mr. Brown and other males were inside the residence at the above address playing cards when three unknown male suspects kicked in the door yelling "police" and made everyone lie on the ground. The suspects then searched the residence for money and located Brown's wife and children upstairs.  They were taken downstairs and held at gunpoint while the suspects continued to search the residence for valuables.  As the suspects searched the apartment, they struck Brown several times with their weapons.  At some point during the robbery, Brown struggled with one of the suspects and was shot.  The suspects fled the scene with one fleeing in Brown's white Chevrolet Suburban, which was later recovered.  Brown was then taken by responding HFD paramedics to the hospital.

The suspects are described only as three black males.
