Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 8914 Westheimer Road


June 30, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 8914 Westheimer Road about 1:25 p.m. on Monday (June 27).  

The suspect, Jeremiah Carter (b/m, 19), is charged with murder in the 228th State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Yousef Almasri, 26, who was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Officers R. Klementich and C. Hogue reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found Mr. Almasri being treated by HFD paramedics for gunshot wounds.  He was then transported to the hospital where he died.  Further investigation determined Almasri and another male (suspect) got into an argument that escalated into a fight.  During the fight, the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot Almasri.  The suspect then fled the scene.

Investigators determined the identity of the suspect to be Jeremiah Carter and he was arrested on Wednesday (June 29) without incident.
