UPDATE: Suspect Charged, Wanted in Fatal Shooting at 8550 F.M. 1960 West

March 15, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 8550 F.M. 1960 West about 8:10 p.m. last Saturday (March 12).

The suspect, Nadonte Pugh (b/m, 19), is charged with capital murder in the 180th State District Court.  A photo of Pugh is attached to this news release.

Pugh is accused in the shooting death of Zia Siddiqui, 51, of Spring, Texas, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Senior Police Officer M. Waters reported:

The suspect entered the convenience store at the above address, looked around inside for a few minutes and went to the register where he placed a soda on the counter.  He then pulled a gun, pointed it an employee and demanded money.  The employee ran back to the kitchen, which is connected to the office where his boss, Mr. Siddiqui was.  Siddiqui had a gun in his hand and he and his employee tried to close the door.  The suspect got in the way of the door, stopping them from closing it.  As they continued to push the door, the suspect forced his way inside and started shooting.  Evidence indicates the suspect also might have been shot.  The suspect fled the store and ran through a field toward an apartment complex.  Siddiqui was pronounced deceased.

Further investigation, as well as tips provided to Crime Stoppers, led to the identification of Nadonte Pugh as the suspect in this case.  He is currently at-large and believed to be with family members.

Anyone with any information on Pugh's whereabouts is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
