Investigation into Man Found Deceased at 5525 Bunte


March 23, 2016 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found after a fire was extinguished  at 5525 Bunte about 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday (March 22).  

The victim, Clinton Russell, Jr., 86, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer B. Evans reported:  

Mr. Russell was at his home, along with his wife, when a fire started inside the residence.  Russell was found by HFD firefighters on the floor of his bedroom after the fire was extinguished. Mrs. Russell was found in the front yard of the residence, not knowing her husband's whereabouts.  

Further investigation determined Mr. Russell had become trapped inside the bedroom when the fire started.  This case is being investigated by the HPD Homicide and HFD Arson Divisions.  

The investigation is pending Mr. Russell's cause of death, to be determined by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
