Suspect Arrested, Charged in Incident at 10230 FM 521


March 29, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect who was arrested following an incident in which he pointed a weapon at HPD officers during a pursuit that ended at 10230 FM 521 about 1:40 p.m. on Monday (March 28).  

The suspect, Jose Luis Orta (H/m, 46), is charged with evading arrest, felon in possession of a weapon, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver in the 179th State District Court.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N. Ruland and Officer R. Klementich reported:  

HPD Southwest Patrol Division Tactical Unit officers attempted to execute a warrant at 14119 Fleetwell when suspect Orta fled the scene in a pickup truck.  Patrol officers then initiated a vehicle pursuit.  During the pursuit, Orta displayed a shotgun and pointed it out the window at officers.   The pursuit continued to a private ranch at the above address in Brazoria County where Orta was taken into custody.  He was found to be in possession of two shotguns and narcotics.
