UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 3380 Crestdale


May 4, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 3380 Crestdale about 3:50 a.m. on April 17.  

The suspect, Sterling Chance Brumant (b/m, 19), is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Darobie Stenline, 20, of Rowlett, Texas, and the wounding of Joshua Mckinnies, 20, of Houston.  Mckinnies was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S. Murdock and Senior Police Officer B. Evans reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found HFD paramedics tending to a male deceased in the driver's side of a black, 1999 Mercedes Benz.  Mr. Mckinnies was also found to have sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital.  

Further investigation identified Brumant as the suspect in this case.  He was arrested on Tuesday (May 3) without incident and subsequently charged.
