Investigation into Man's Death at 6201 Hermann Park Drive


May 25, 2016 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found at 6201 Hermann Park Drive about noon on Monday (May 23).

The victim, Larry Cowart, 67, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His cause of death is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Rodriguez and Officer M. Condon reported:

Witnesses playing golf at the Hermann Park Golf Course found Mr. Cowart floating in a water hazard near the 7th hole.  The witnesses called 911.  The HPD Dive Team recovered Cowart and Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead.
At this time, it is believed Cowart was homeless and living in the area.  Anyone with information on him or his activities is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
