Investigation into Female Found Deceased at 2900 South Wayside


May 27, 2016 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a female found at 2900 South Wayside about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday (May 26). 

The identity of the female is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Turner and Officers T. Tyler and M. Coleman reported:  

City of Houston employees were working in the area and found the body of a female several yards from the bank of Brays Bayou.  Due to the body being in an advanced state of decomposition, her identity and age were not readily available.  Clothing believed to belong to the female was found a short distance away, along with a pair of green and black corded headphones.

 She has a tattoo, possibly lettering, on her left forearm.  

At this time, the investigation is pending the female's cause of death.
