Investigation into Fatal Crash at 19401 Katy Freeway
November 7, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 19401 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday (November 5).
The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Thomas and Officer Y. Haq reported:
The driver of a white Toyota Camry was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed on the eastbound lanes of the Katy Freeway and struck white Honda Accord head on. The impact caused the Camry to burst into flames. The driver of the Camry died at the scene. The driver of the Honda was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
The investigation is continuing.
