Investigation into Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash at 10300 North Loop East


November 21, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 10300 North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610 East) about 3:10 a.m. on Sunday (Nov. 20).

The identity of the deceased male victim, 29, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Duplechain and Officer J. Baker reported:

A group of four motorcyclists stopped on the shoulder of the northbound lanes of the freeway at the above address to examine one motorcycle with engine trouble.  While on the shoulder, a maroon vehicle, possibly a Honda sedan, failed to maintain a single lane and struck a member (victim) of the group and two motorcycles.  The victim was thrown over the median onto the southbound lanes of the freeway and pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the striking vehicle failed to stop and render aid and fled the scene.  

The wanted vehicle has significant damage to its front left side.
