Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1900 Commerce
October 5, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1900 Commerce Street about 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 4).
The identity of the male victim, 49, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Salazar and Officer C. Washington reported:
The driver of a commercial truck serviced a Porta Potty near the above address and, as he drove through a dirt lot, he struck the victim while he was sleeping on the ground in the lot. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene. The driver of the truck was questioned and released with no charges filed at this time.
The investigation is continuing.
