Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8500 Gulf Freeway
October 7, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 8500 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 11:55 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 6).
The victim, David Garcia, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roque and Officer B. Roberts reported:
Mr. Garcia was driving a gray Nissan Altima northbound at the above address when he struck the rear of a disabled brown Toyota Corolla that was parked on the shoulder. A woman and her daughter were standing outside the vehicle and were not hurt. A boy, 8, and two females, 17 and 11, were inside the Toyota at the time of the crash. All three were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital. The females suffered non-life threatening injuries. The condition of the boy is not known at this time.
The investigation is continuing.
