Update: Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7600 East Houston Road
October 10, 2016 - A man shot at 7600 East Houston Road about 8:45 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 8) has died from his wounds.
The victim, Adoniya M. Spiller, 24, of the above address, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where, on Sunday (Oct. 9), he was pronounced dead.
The suspect, Marcus Renard Coleman (b/m, 24), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 339th State District Court. A photo of Coleman is attached to this news release.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J. Brooks and C. Cegielski reported:
Coleman was visiting Spiller at the above address when the two began arguing. During the argument, Coleman produced a gun and shot Spiller, who suffered life-threatening wounds. Coleman fled the scene and remains at large.
