Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5700 San Felipe Street
October 14, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 5700 San Felipe Street about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday (October 13).
The male victim, 75, was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer T. Tran reported:
The victim attempted to cross San Felipe, stepped into a moving lane of traffic (not at a crosswalk) and was struck by a Toyota Corrolla traveling east on San Felipe. The victim was transported by HFD paramedics to the hospital. The female driver, 71, remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
