Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7700 Gulf Freeway
October 24, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7700 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 5:35 a.m. today.
The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer D. Ashford reported:
The victim was operating a black Harley Davidson motorcycle when he failed to control his speed and struck a gray Dodge Dart. The impact caused the motorcycle to swerve into the next lane where it was struck by a gold Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. The victim died at the scene. The drivers of the Toyota and the Dodge, who remained at the scene, were determined not to be impaired. Both drivers were questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
