Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 7300 Jensen Drive
October 24, 2016 - Charges hve been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 7300 Jensen Drive about 6:35 p.m. on Saturday (October 22).
The suspect, Qualdro Reyes (H/m, 34), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 228th State District Court. A photo of Reyes is attached to this news release.
The male victim, 75, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer M. Burton reported:
The victim was driving a silver Nissan Altima southbound on Jensen and attempted to make a right turn onto Vaughn Street when his vehicle was struck from behind by a white Dodge Durango, driven by Reyes, at a high rate of speed. The impact caused the Nissan to roll over. HFD paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital. Reyes was detained at the scene, found to be impaired and was subsequently charged.
