UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 8602 Valley Meadow
September 1, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man found at 8602 Valley Meadow at about 10:30 p.m. on August 5.
The suspect, Jeffery Michael Stegall (w/m, 35), is charged with murder in the 263rd State District Court. He is accused in the killing of his brother, James M. Stegall, 37, of the above address, who died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer L. Bailey and Officer J. Young and reported:
Officers responded to a person down call at the above address and found the victim inside the residence. He had sustained a gunshot wound. Witnesses stated there had been a small gathering at the house earlier in the evening, but no one witnessed the shooting. The victim was later identified by family members.
Further investigation identified Jeffery Stegall as the suspect in this case. He was taken into custody in Liberty County last Friday (August 26) by members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force without incident.
