Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 330 Cartersville


September 8, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 330 Cartersville about 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday (September 7).  

The suspect, Robert Rles (b/m, 48), is charged with murder in the 230th State District Court.  A photo of Riles is attached to this news release.  

The victim, 54, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rhoads and Officer C. Sharp reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the victim deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.  According to witnesses, the suspect fled on foot toward Mississippi Street.  Responding officers searched the area and located the suspect, positively identified as Riles, and he was taken into custody without incident.
