Investigation into Fatal Crash at Hillcroft and Westpark

April 10, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at Hillcroft and Westpark at about 1:45 a.m. on Sunday (April 9).  

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer G. Anderson reported:  

The driver of a tractor-trailer truck was traveling northbound on Hillcroft through the intersection at Westpark when a silver BMW, driven by the victim, traveling eastbound on Westpark ran the red light at the intersection of Hillcroft.  The BMW struck the trailer then passed underneath it.  The BMW came to a stop about a quarter mile from the crash scene.  The driver of the BMW was pronounced deceased.  The driver of the 18-wheeler, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired. He was questioned and released.
