Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7100 De Priest Street


August 16, 2017 - A man critically injured in a crash at 7100 De Priest Street about 2:35 p.m. on July 29 has died from his injuries. 

The victim is identified as Charles Cook, 62, of Houston.   

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer S. Coke reported:  

According to a preliminary investigation, Mr. Cook was driving a 2007 gray Ford Taurus westbound on West Rittenhouse and ignored the stop sign at the intersection of De Priest.  The Taurus was then struck by a silver Hyundai Sonata traveling northbound on De Priest.  HFD paramedics responded to the scene and transported both drivers to Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital.  Doctors pronounced Cook deceased on August 4. 

The investigation is continuing.
