December 18, 2017 - The fatal shooting of a woman at 7025 Sayers about 8:15 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 17) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the victim, 20, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Thomas and Officer R. Moss reported:

The victim drove to her ex-boyfriend's residence and waited for him to return home.  When he arrived with another woman, the victim became angry and began a verbal and physical confrontation with the woman.  The victim picked up a shovel and started swinging it at her ex-boyfriend.  The male managed to take the shovel away from the female.  She then went to her vehicle, retrieved a knife and began walking toward the passenger seat of a vehicle where the other woman was seated.  At that time, the woman, 22, retrieved a pistol.  When the victim opened the car door, the woman fired one shot, striking the female victim in the head.  Paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene.
