2nd UPDATE: Second Suspect Arrested, Charged in Child's Death at 301 Wilcrest Drive


January 26, 2017 - Charges have been filed against a second suspect arrested in the death of a child found unresponsive at 301 Wilcrest Drive about 8:25 a.m. on November 8, 2016.  

The second suspect, Andre Young (b/m, 21), is charged with injury to a child-serious bodily injury in the 228th State District Court.  He is accused for his role in the death of Jaycion Jones, 3, of the above address. 

The other suspect, the child's mother, Jasmine Jones (b/f, 21), was charged with two counts of injury to a child-serious bodily injury by omission in the 228th State District Court.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Hassig and Officer T. Ferguson reported:  

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the above address regarding an unresponsive three-year-old boy (Jaycion Jones).  HFD paramedics observed bruising around Jaycion's pelvis and transported him to Texas Children's Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  An autopsy conducted by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined Jaycion suffered extensive internal injuries as well as wounds to his buttocks, back, abdomen, pelvis and head and that he died as a result of those injuries.  

Suspect Jones was subsequently charged in her son's death and surrendered to authorities on Dec. 10, 2016.
Further investigation identified Young as a second suspect and he was arrested and charged on Tuesday (Jan. 24) without incident.
