HPD Special Investigations Unit Detectives R. Lujan and M. Seay reported:

HPD officers were dispatched to an aggravated robbery at 11131 Windmark on reports two suspects stole a couple's vehicle at gunpoint.  Officers responded and developed information on the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle.

An HPD sergeant attempted to conduct a felony traffic stop by turning on his emergency equipment.  The driver (Gordon) of the stolen vehicle did not stop and a pursuit ensued.  The stolen vehicle pulled into a gas station on State Highway 6 South.  The front passenger (Elias) exited the vehicle and discharged a firearm several times at the sergeant inside his patrol vehicle.  A bullet went through the windshield of the patrol vehicle.  Fortunately, the sergeant sustained only minor injuries from glass fragments.  The suspects were arrested without further incident and suspect Elias' firearm was recovered.

Anyone with additional information on the two suspects is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or the Robbery Division at 713-308-0700.
