Suspects Arrested, Charged in Child's Death at 7600 Creekbend


June 26, 2017 - Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the death of a child found unresponsive at 7600 Creekbend about 10 p.m. on Saturday (June 24).

The suspects, Rajfik Dominique Keating (b/m, 24) and Lynette Monique Gasper-Washington (b/f, 25), are charged with injury to a child in the 183rd  State District Court.  Photos of the suspects are attached to this news release.

The identity of the male victim, 2, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers B. Roberts and K. Heaverlo reported:

Officers were dispatched to an apartment at the above address for a “Meet the Firefighter” call and saw a child was being administered CPR as he was being taken to a waiting ambulance on scene.  Paramedics transported the child to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  Evidence indicated the child appeared to have suffered multiple injuries.  The child's mother, Gasper-Washington, and her boyfriend, Keating, were detained and subsequently charged in the case.
