The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Robles, Senior Police Officer I. Ulloa and Officer E. Wohlgemuth reported:

The complainant approached a female at a bus stop near the above address and attempted to introduce himself.  However, he quickly realized she did not speak English and ended the interaction.  At that time, an unknown male, also at the bus stop, confronted the complainant in a threatening manner, stating the female was his sister.

The complainant immediately walked back to his car.  While sitting inside, the unknown male approached and asked the complainant to roll down the window.  When he refused, the unknown male reached into what appeared to be some type of bag, grabbed a weapon, and began firing.  The complainant, a concealed handgun license holder, grabbed his own weapon, opened the door, and exchanged gunfire with the unknown male, striking him several times. The unknown male was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is continuing.  Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
