Investigation into Shooting Incident at 2600 Westridge


March 28, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a shooting incident at 2600 Westridge about 11:15 p.m. on Monday (March 27).

The male victim, 4, was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Simmons reported:

The child was sleeping in his apartment bedroom at the above address when an unknown person fired multiple times from the parking lot into the living room where the boy's mother was watching television.  During the incident, the child suffered a minor head injury.  Initially, it was believed he may have been grazed by a bullet, however, he may have injured his head during the chaos following the shooting.

Investigators believe the suspect walked to the parking lot and then fled on foot.  Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
