Suspect Arrested, Charged in Stabbing at 315 Benmar


November 15, 2017 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a man at 315 Benmar Drive about 9:45 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 12).

The suspect, Pablo Antonio Garcia (H/m, 26), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 230th State District Court.  A photo of Garcia is attached to this news release.

The victim, Mario Ramirez-Lopez, 33, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Officers A. Hernandez and G. Black reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a reported stabbing at the above location.  Upon arrival, they found Mr. Ramirez-Lopez outside a friend's apartment.  He had been approached by two men who began arguing with him.  During the argument, Ramirez-Lopez was stabbed.  He was transported to a hospital for treatment of two stab wounds.  The two males were taken into custody.  One of them, Garcia, was subsequently charged in the stabbing.
