Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6833 London


October 17, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of another at 6833 London about 1:50 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 16).
 
The first victim, believed to be 50-55 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
 
The second victim, Walter Fields, 22, of the above address, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.
 
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Turner and Officer J. Nguyen reported:
 
The victims were shot by four armed suspects who were in a blue-colored Mazda.  The suspects then abandoned the Mazda and fled the scene.  One suspect fled on foot towards Cullen Boulevard.  The other three suspects took a dark green Kia Sedona at gunpoint that was occupied by a woman and her 11-month-old niece.  Neither the woman nor the child was harmed.
 
A possible suspect has been detained for questioning; however no charges have been filed at this time, pending further investigation.
 
The suspects are described only as black males between 18 to 25 years old.
