UPDATE: Public's Help Sought in Identifying Man Found Deceased at 9800 Lawndale

Houston police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man found deceased at 9800 Lawndale about 1 p.m. on December 29, 2017.  

The victim is described only as possibly being a black male possibly in his mid 30s, weighing about 190 pounds and about 6 feet tall.  He was found wearing only dark plaid shorts and a pair of socks.  His cause of death remains undetermined.  

Photos of two distinctive tattoos are attached to this news release.  The first, containing a cross and the words - Jesus Christ - is located on the front right side of his neck.  The cross appears under his right ear, with "Jesus Christ" in front of the cross.  The second tattoo, featuring the words - Kyala H - is located on the back of the man's right hand.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rhodes and Detective J. Nguyen reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a body found on the embankment along Sims Bayou, near the above address.  The HPD Dive Team responded to the scene and recovered the male's body from the water.
