Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 827 Oak Street
January 2, 2017 - The fatal shooting of a burglary suspect at 827 Oak Street about 6 a.m. on Monday (January 1) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the male suspect is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The female shooter was not injured in the incident.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Stark and A. Barr reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and were told by a female (shooter) that a male she has seen around the apartment complex broke into her apartment while she was sleeping. She was awakened by the sound of breaking glass and then saw the suspect in her bedroom. As the suspect walked over to her bed, she grabbed a pistol near her and fired at him. The suspect was struck and pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was not injured.
