Investigation into Fatal Stabbing at 3131 Hayes


January 16, 2017 - The fatal stabbing of a male that occurred at 3131 Hayes Road about 11:50 p.m. on Sunday (Jan. 14) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identify of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective S. Overstreet reported:

Officers responded to a person down call at the above address and found a male, who had been stabbed multiple times.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Officers learned the male had forced his way into his apartment after his girlfriend refused to let him in.  While inside the apartment, there was a physical altercation between the male and another friend that was visiting with the girlfriend at the time.  During the altercation, the girlfriend stabbed the male multiple times.  He then walked out of the apartment and fell near the top of the stairs.  

The investigation is continuing.
