Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3700 Wilmington


January 29, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 3700 Wilmington about 11 a.m. today (January 29).  

The identities of the male and female victims are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer R. Saenz reported:  

The driver of a blue Dodge Caliber was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed on Wilmington and ran the stop sign at the intersection of Scott.  The Dodge then struck a gray Toyota Corolla, causing both vehicles to spin and come to a stop on the front lawn of a residence in the 3700 block of Wilmington.  The female driver of the Toyota died at the scene.  The male passenger in the Toyota was transported by HFD paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  The driver of the Dodge was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in an unknown condition.  

No charges have been filed at this time, pending the results of a mandatory blood draw on the driver of the Dodge.
