2nd Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 9828 Blackhawk Boulevard

June 7, 2018 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 9828 Blackhawk Boulevard about 1:05 p.m. on January 20.

The suspect, Reginald Hawkins (b/m, 18), is charged with capital murder in the 174th State District Court.  A photo of Hawkins is attached to this news release.

Hawkins is charged for his role in the death of That Huu Le, 75.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Barr and M. Perez reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in a grocery store parking lot at the above address.  Upon arrival, they learned the victim, Mr. Le, had been transported to an area hospital where he died.  An investigation revealed two suspects had followed Le to the parking lot where one suspect approached Le as he was exiting his vehicle.  A short altercation took place and Le was shot multiple times.  Both suspects then fled in a gold-colored sedan.

Further investigation identified Hawkins as a suspect in this case and, last Friday, June 1 he was charged with capital murder.  Hawkins was already in custody on an unrelated charge and case.  The investigation remains ongoing with additional suspects being sought.
