Suspect Charged, Wanted in Fatal Shooting at 8023 Cobblefield Lane

September 4, 2018 - Houston police are searching for a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 8023 Cobblefield Lane at about 7 a.m. on Monday (Sept. 4).

The suspect, Lamarcus Morris (b/m, 31), is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court. A photo of Morris is not available at this time. 

The identity of the victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Burton and Detective M. Condon reported:

The victim and his girlfriend were at a residence at the above address when her estranged boyfriend (Morris) attempted to gain entry.  An argument between Morris and the victim escalated into a physical confrontation.  Morris then retrieved a firearm from his vehicle.  The victim attempted to flee, however, Morris shot the victim in the back. 

Morris then fled the scene in a black Cadillac Escalade bearing Texas license plates beginning with the letters JK.  He currently remains at-large.
