Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 5216 Irving Way
August 5, 2019 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 5216 Irving Way about 8:30 p.m. last Friday (Aug. 2).
The suspect, Robert Sanchez (H/m, 51), is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court. A booking photo of Sanchez is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Officers D. Crowder and C. Mangano reported:
Officers responded to a shooting call at a residence at the above address and found the victim lying in the driveway. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the man deceased.
Investigators learned the victim and a family member (Sanchez) got into an argument that escalated when Sanchez pulled out a gun and shot the victim. Sanchez fled the scene in a pickup truck. He was later detained by Pasadena Police Department officers and subsequently transported to the Harris County jail and charged in the shooting.
