Update: Person of Interest Sought in Fatal Shooting at 12224 Bissonnet Street

August 9, 2019 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a man at 12224 Bissonnet Street about 3:20 a.m. on June 16.

The individual, Alfredo Arturo Lucero-Serrano (H/m, 30), is wanted for questioning in the investigation.  He is not charged at this time.  A previous booking photo of Lucero-Serrano is attached to this news release.

The victim, Cruz Osmar Rubio-Reyes, 40, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Horn and Detectives T. Tyler, B. Evans and B. Roberts reported:

Mr. Rubio-Reyes and another man were fighting in the rear parking area of a bar at the above address when a witness intervened.  The suspect then got into a white Jeep Wrangler with two other men, drove toward Rubio-Reyes and then shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene.  

The suspects are described only as three Hispanic males, approximately 30 years old.

Further investigation identified Lucero-Serrano as a person of interest in the case.
