Investigation into Shooting at 12515 Mylla Street

August 19, 2019 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of five men and one woman at 12515 Mylla Street about 1:40 a.m. on Saturday (August 17).  

The male victims, Jason Ortiz, 18, Johnathon Garza, 19, Ernest Pina, 19, Jesus Macias, 18, and Jose Ramirez, Jr., 18, suffered non-life-threatening wounds.  The female victim, Jaqueline Sandoval, 17, also suffered a non -life-threatening gunshot wound.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers S. Ragsdale, V. Habukiha and A. Williams reported:  

A male hosted a house party that had approximately 30 to 100 people in attendance.  During the party, some attendees got into a verbal altercation that led to approximately three persons shooting in the street outside the residence.  Three persons, Pina, Macias and Sandoval, were wounded at the scene and were transported by paramedics to an area hospital. 

Another shooting occurred on the roadway at a gas station between the above address and 8109 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10).  It is believed the shooting was a carryover from the incident at Mylla Street and may have occurred on the East Freeway while the vehicles involved were moving.  Three persons, Garza, Ortiz and Ramirez, were wounded in this shooting.  Two of them, Garza and Ortiz, were transported to the hospital.  Ramirez was treated by paramedics at the scene.   All victims are expected to survive.
