Investigation into Fatal Crash at 9400 North Loop East
July 09, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 9400 North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610 East) about 5:30 p.m. on Monday (July 8).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer E. Clark reported:
The victim was driving a red Ford Explorer westbound on the North Loop and attempted to exit the freeway at Wallisville Road when the vehicle left the roadway and drove into the grassy area. The vehicle then struck a light pole. HFD paramedics pronounced the driver dead at the scene. There were no other persons nor vehicles involved.
