July 22, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 100 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 4:35 a.m. today (July 22).  

The identity of the male victim, 67, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer V. Garcia reported:  

The victim, who is believed to be homeless, was running southbound on the main lanes of the Katy Freeway and was struck by a green Mercury Grand Marquis.  The victim died at the scene.  The driver of the Mercury remained at the scene.  He was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
