Suspects Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 500 Dumble Street

June 21, 2019 - Charges have been filed against three suspects arrested in the shooting of a man that occurred at 500 Dumble Street about 12:30 a.m. on Thursday (June 20).  

One suspect, David Aguilera (H/m, 17), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 263rd State District Court.  A second male suspect, 16, was referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.  The third male suspect, also 16, was referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon.  A booking photo of Aguilera is attached to this news release. 

All three suspects are accused for their roles in the shooting of Chase Rivers, 25.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers S. Ragsdale, R. Naughton and C. Grahmann reported: 

Mr. Rivers was riding his bike home from a nearby bar with others when the suspect's vehicle pulled up alongside him.  At that time, a passenger in the backseat fired a shot at Rivers, striking him in the left arm.  Paramedics transported Rivers to an area hospital in stable condition.   

The suspects fled the scene, but their vehicle was stopped a short time later by a HPD South Central Crime Suppression patrol unit.  Aguilera, the driver, as well as the shooter (juvenile suspect) and another passenger (juvenile suspect) were arrested without incident.
