Suspect Arrested, Charged in Stabbing Incident at 5300 North Freeway

March 26, 2019 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a man that occurred at 5300 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 9:25 p.m. on Monday (March 26).

The suspect, Shelia Bruner (b/f, 49), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 337th State District Court.  A photo of Bruner is attached to this news release.

The victim, Jeffrey Conway, 51, was transported to an area hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening wounds.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives R. Gonzales and A. Le reported:

Mr. Conway was washing windows on the corner of the North Freeway and Tidwell when he was approached by two females, including suspect Bruner, who produced a knife and stabbed him in the eye. 

Conway then produced his own knife and stabbed Bruner in return.  Both individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment and Bruner was subsequently arrested and charged in this incident.
