Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7400 West Tidwell
May 6, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7400 West Tidwell Road about 4:55 a.m. on Saturday (May 4).
The identity of the male victim, 18, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Maness and Officer H. Nguyen reported:
The victim was driving a white Nissan Titan eastbound on West Tidwell at a high rate of speed when his vehicle clipped the driver's side mirror of a white Chevrolet Astro van traveling in a nearby lane in the same direction. The victim lost control of the Nissan, which left the roadway and struck a tree in the median. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The driver of the van was not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
