Investigation into Fatal Crash at 10400 Gulf Freeway
November 25, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10400 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 4:55 a.m. on Saturday (November 23).
The identity of the female victim, 46, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer J. Campbell reported:
The victim was driving a black Fiat 5000 northbound on the Gulf Freeway, failed to stay in a single lane and struck a concrete retaining wall. The vehicle rolled into the main lanes and was struck by a tractor-trailer truck traveling northbound. The driver of the Fiat was transported to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the tractor-trailer truck remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
