Investigation into Stabbing at 15041 Buxley

October 2, 2019 - Houston police are investigating the stabbing of a man that occurred at 15041 Buxley about 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday (October 1).

The victim, Mark Olazabal, 50, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Hernandez and G. Black reported:

Mr. Olazabal was evicting a man who had been staying with him for about four months.  When the roommate attempted to retrieve belongings from his room, Olazabal wouldn't let him in.  The roommate then entered the residence from the back of the house while Olazabal exited the front door armed with a machete.

When the roommate came back to the front of the home, the two men began fighting and the roommate stabbed Olazabal with a knife.  Olazabal then retreated inside the residence whereupon the roommate kicked open the front door and struck Olazabal in the head with the butt of the knife.  He then fled and remains at large.

Currently, there are no charges in this case, pending further investigation.
