Suspect Arrested, Charged in 2016 Fatal Shooting at 3426 Sparrow

September 26, 2019 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man found at 3426 Sparrow Street about 5:50 a.m. on September 4, 2016.

The suspect, Laquinta Renee Johnson (b/f, 32), is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court.  A photo of Johnson is not available for release at this time.

She is accused in the shooting death of Kevin Roman, 39.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Burrow reported:

HPD officers responded to a welfare check at the above address and found Mr. Roman deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.  His gray Jeep Grand Cherokee was missing.

A subsequent investigation determined that Johnson, who was dating Roman at the time, was involved in his death and an arrest warrant was obtained.  On Wednesday (Sept. 25), Johnson was arrested and confessed to her role in Roman's death.
