Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 10001 Westpark Drive

August 17, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 10001 Westpark Drive about 3:15 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 15).

The identity of the deceased male, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  The other male, 17, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants W. Dunn, E. Attebury and Detective R. Naughton reported:

The older male (suspect) followed the younger male (victim) in separate vehicles into the townhome complex at the above address when an altercation occurred.  The suspect then shot the victim multiple times with a rifle.  The brother of the victim and an unknown male chased the suspect and fired shots at him.  The suspect and his girlfriend fled the scene, with the girlfriend driving him to a business on South Gessner Road.  Paramedics were called to the business and transported the male to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead with several gunshot wounds.  The victim at the townhome complex was transported by private vehicle to the hospital.  He sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
