Investigation into Person Found Deceased at 800 Blodgett Street

July 16, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the death of an individual found at 800 Blodgett Street about 2:25 p.m. on Wednesday (July 15).

The gender and identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers E. Martinez and R. Montalvo reported:

Patrol officers were dispatched to a report of a deceased person at the above address and learned a passerby discovered a body wrapped in several sleeping bags inside of a shopping cart. Duct tape was visible on the lower part of the body.  Paramedics pronounced the person deceased.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will conduct an autopsy to determine the individual's identity and cause of death.
