Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8000 Westheimer
June 5, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 8000 Westheimer about 9:45 p.m. on May 29th.
The identity of the male victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Benavidez and Officer A. Chheav reported:
The driver of a red Jeep Liberty was driving eastbound at the above address when he struck the victim who was crossing the street, not in a crosswalk. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep, who was determined not to be impaired, remained at the scene, was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
